Giving is one of the central themes in the Bible. Jesus talked about this subject more than heaven, hell or prayer. To understand what it means to be a Christ-follower, we must also understand what it means to be a giver.
First Things First
God doesn't need our money because he is The Creator of all. But when we willingly set aside the first part of our income for the local church, our hearts will be turned toward Him. (Matthew 6:21)
Know Giving, Know Life
Giving is the antidote for materialism. The Bible says that by giving generously we are able to "take hold of the life that is truly life." You aren't really living unless you are freely giving. (I Timothy 6:19)
The Treasure Chest
Giving is the only area in the Bible where God invites us to test Him. Give your tithe (the first 10% of your income) to God and see if He does not open the floodgates of heaven to bless you in ways that you never dreamed possible. (Malachi 3:10)
An Eternal Investment
Even when the stock market's down, you can make an investment that pays dividends for a lifetime and beyond. Only two things will last forever: People and The Church. By investing in the life-changing message of the church, you can leverage your money for eternity. (I Timothy 6:7)
Online Giving
Because of the everyday nature of the internet, many people have asked us about the possibility of giving online. In response to this we now provide this service for those who prefer to manage their donations electronically. We know this is not for everyone. Yet, because this option serves many people at Evangel, and it also saves the church money, we are making it available.
You may give via debit card, check card or credit card and you can even chose to give on a recurring basis. Your recurring gift will occur on the anniversary date of your original gift (i.e. the same day of the week or month as your original gift). If you ever need to make a change to your recurring gift, please contact the Administrator at (334) 272-4882.
Please do not choose to go into credit card debt in order to give as it is our desire is for everyone to be good stewards of the finances that God has entrusted to you.
